God has used many tools in my spiritual walk (family, AWANA, summer camps, NWC, RHAC, etc.), but primarily He used His Word. Since that is the case, and since I want to proclaim His word to others, I would like to use this section to periodically share a verse or passage that has been a past favorite, is currently challenging me, or is used in a special way by God to touch the people I work with in PNG.

The first verse I will share is from my newsletter:
John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

God used this verse when, as a young person and young Christian, I was questioning what the point of being a Christian was. Was it just to gain eternal life so I could go to heaven instead of hell? Well, the answer came through bright and clear when I read this verse. The point of eternal life is to KNOW Jesus Christ. That was the starting point to understanding my relationship with Jesus Christ and simultaneously discovering that knowing Him came about through reading His word. It was such a blessing to arrive at the point when, for the first time, the Bible was no longer just nice to read, but necessary to get through each day with my Lord! I can’t sing the song “Knowing You” without thinking of this verse.
